How many of you have been waiting anxiously for BioShock Infinite to finally be released? Well, unfortunately the release date has been moved back even further. It was planned to be available on February 26, but that now has become March 26. It’s already been quite a wait for the new installment of the BioShock games, and fans are a little antsy to get their hands on it. The game has received much pre-release attention, winning multiple awards at the 2011 E3 show, including “Best of Show”. Hopefully with the extra time, BioShock Infinite will be turned into an even greater game.
BioShock Infinite will be the third game in the BioShock series. It’s being developed by Irrational Games and will be available on Microsoft Windows, Play Station 3 and Xbox 360. The game is going to take place in the air-city,Columbia, rather than in Rapture. It’s not a prequel orsequel to the previous BioShock games, but don’t let that get you down. The main concepts and themes will still be utilized, and the fresh spin is sure to keep BioShock fans pleased and interested.
Why did this misfortune befall us, you ask? Well, former Epic Games employee Rod Fergusson believed the game could use a couple slight adjustments that could be tweaked in a few extra weeks. So although the wait is going to be elongated, it’s worth it for a top-notch game. Then when finally released, we can all thank Fergusson for his perfectionist attitude, rather than blame him for pushing back the release date.
So we’re just going to have to continue on with BioShock 1 and 2 for about a month, while the BioShock Infinite is being polished off. But anticipation is often the best part. Where would we be without excitement, right?
