Closet cosplays can sometimes be too ambiguous, here are some hints to help you look your best at Anime World! Be sure to check out our article on what closet cosplays to do as well!

Tips for Closet Cosplays:

Pick an appropriate character–Make sure your version of this character can be recognized.

Pay attention to the details–Watch out for colors and cuts…they can make a huge difference.

Try to have the same hair color as your character–Try hair dye or a wig if your color isn’t the same.

Use other people’s closets, too–Ask around, someone else might have what you need.

Shop at thrift stores–If your friends and family don’t have a necessary item, look at secondhand shops.  You might be surprised what they have!

Don’t be afraid to make alterations–Not everything will be perfect as is.  If you have time, try making changes to the garment so it more closely resembles your character

Accessorize–The details can make or break your costume, shop online for great accessories.
