Phantasy Star Online 2 Release Unknown

By: Hannah Becker

The game Phantasy Star Online 2 was scheduled to be released to North American fans early this year. Seeing as it wasn’t out yet, and there isn’t even a set date, it became pretty obvious that we couldn’t expect the game anytime in the immediate future.

Phantasy Star Online was a game originally released on the Dreamcast in 2000, and has games for Microsoft Windows, GameCube and Xbox.

Sega has now confirmed that Phantasy Star Online 2’s release date is, in fact, delayed; but they haven’t said much else. When Polygon asked Sega for specifics on why the game doesn’t have a set release date and for reasons why it’s getting delayed, Sega has this to say:

Sega can officially [say] that POS2 has been delayed. We don’t have any specifics but will update everyone as soon as there are more details to share.”

Big fans of the original online game are going to have to continue the wait for the sequel without much knowledge on why. Hopefully Sega is working diligently to complete the game so we can all get playing.
