Daft Punk Figurines Released in Time for New Album

By: Hannah Becker

There’s a new collectable coming out for all you die-hard techno and electronica fans! The extremely popular duo, Daft Punk, has had figures modeled after them from Bandai’s high end Tamashii Nation label.

Daft Punk is made up of two French musicians, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. The group’s popularity started gaining momentum in the late 1990’s when there was a large house and synthpop movement in France, and is still very popular around the globe, hence the making of their own action figures.

These figures are to be released this November, just in time for Christmas! So get out your space boots and blast some DP favorites on your way to pick up a pair of these bad boys.

Not everyone is too invested in the robot music scene, but for those of you who enjoy music on the more classical spectrum, you may still know who these guys are. They’re well known for their elaborate stages and dances at concerts and have made many cameo appearances. You might recognize them from Tron: Legacy, The Simpsons or even the feature-length anime film Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem.

Their widely popular song “One More Time” is included for your enjoyment. So make sure to check out Interstella 5555 and keep in mind they also have a new album coming out soon, that’s sure to be as great as their first!
